Enjoy a relaxing holiday in a well furnished Gite in the Vienne countryside, surrounded by sunflower fields and wildlife.We have 3 Gites of different sizes, each with its own private garden and sharing 2 swimming pools, a large communal garden with various facilities for children, including swings, slides, large play areas, table tennis, a boules pitch, with adults and children's sets of boules, and out of the sun we have table football (pub style), pool table, and various board games. We are situated in the 2nd Sunniest area of France, the South coast being the 1st, but we are a lot easier to travel to being approx. 4 hrs drive from the ferry port Caen, and 30 minutes drive from Poitiers train station, and Poitiers airport, which is serviced by Ryanair, both of which have car hire facilities,(car hire in France can be cheaper than you think.) We are open all year , and if you are property hunting, one of the best ways to do it is stay in a gite, to get a feel for the area. This is usually a lot cheaper than a hotel and Bed & Breakfast can be arranged. We are situated in the countryside, but only 10 minutes easy walking from the centre of our village, Romagne, which has 2 bars, 2 garages, a hairdresser, a post office, a boulangerie, and a well stocked village shop,also close by is The Vallee des Singes, a monkey park, without cages and very popular with the children. We are close to the old city of Poitiers, which has the theme park Futuroscope, and easy driving distance of Cognac, Jarnac, Niort, and the port of La Rochelle, which has Fort Boyard in the river estuary, the entire department is full of history, from the 100 years war, when Poitiers was English, to history of World War II.
